Słupsk Bioenergy Island Inspires Other Regions
(17.03.2026)
Słupskie Wodociągi hosted participants of a study visit from the Małopolskie Voivodeship. The guests included representatives of local government units responsible for energy transition and eco-consultants supporting local authorities in pro-ecological activities.
The purpose of the visit was to present the operations of the Słupsk Bioenergy Cluster and the projects titled: “SWB Słupsk Bioenergy Island – Development of Energy Competences of the SKB Cluster Coordinator” and “Development of Energy Competences of the Słupsk Bioenergy Cluster” (Stage II), co-financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) funds.
During the meeting, the following topics were presented:
- The concept behind the operation of the SWB cluster as an initiative connecting local governments, enterprises, and municipal companies that jointly develop a local energy system based on bioenergy, renewable energy sources, and circular economy solutions;
- The cooperation model between the partners, as well as the assumptions, tasks, and investments implemented under the projects across both the investment and pre-investment components.
The Słupsk Bioenergy Island is a prime example of the practical implementation of innovation and the efficient use of local resources. The emerging energy management system may serve as a model in the future for local governments seeking modern solutions in local energy. The experiences gained in Słupsk provide genuine inspiration for other regions in Poland.
