The SKB Cluster Analyzes Hydrogen and Biomethane Potential

What lies ahead for locally produced energy? In the future, hydrogen and biomethane could become vital components of the Słupsk Bioenergy Cluster’s (SKB) local energy system.
As the leader of the SKB, the “Wodociągi Słupsk” water utility company is analyzing the feasibility of utilizing these fuels within the local energy framework. At the company’s headquarters, representatives from DOT Engineering Sp. z o.o., based in Gdańsk, presented the outcomes of their work on the development concept for the hydrogen and biomethane economy.
This marks an initial phase dedicated to planning and evaluating technological, organizational, and economic feasibility. The analyses aim to identify which solutions could prove effective for the Słupsk Bioenergy Cluster in the future and how to optimize the use of local resources.
The concept was developed under the second stage of the project titled “Development of Energy Competences of the Słupsk Bioenergy Cluster”. This initiative is supported by funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO) under Investment B2.2.2/G1.1.2: “RES installations implemented by energy communities.”
The meeting was attended by representatives of the City of Słupsk, the Municipal Transport Company (MZK) in Słupsk, the Urban Infrastructure Board (ZIM) in Słupsk, and the “Wodociągi Słupsk” company.
This concept represents the next step in planning the future of local energy, driven by regional resources, advanced technologies, and solutions designed to enhance local energy security.
