Local Energy as the Future of Słupsk Business
Rising energy prices, the need for greater energy independence, and the development of the local economy – these were the core topics of the study visit titled “Słupsk Bioenergy Cluster and the SWB Project. Local Energy as the Future of Słupsk Business,” which took place on May 20, 2026, at the headquarters of “Wodociągi Słupsk”, the leader of the SKB Cluster.
The event was attended by representatives of the Management Board, the Council, and members of the Słupsk Chamber of Business, local entrepreneurs from the Słupsk region, as well as representatives of the Słupsk Bioenergy Cluster.
The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to discuss the future of local energy and cooperation that delivers a tangible impact on the energy security and economic growth of the region.
During the visit, Andrzej Wójtowicz, President of the Management Board of “Wodociągi Słupsk”, delivered a detailed presentation on the operational model of the Słupsk Bioenergy Cluster, the implementation status of the Słupsk Bioenergy Island (SWB) project, and the investments carried out under its framework. The participants also discussed the benefits of local energy balancing and building synergies between companies operating in the region.
The SWB project is a nationwide pilot initiative and serves as a prime example of a modern approach to energy transition. The meeting created a valuable platform for exchanging experiences and discussing the role of enterprises in building a modern and sustainable regional economy.
The event was organized in cooperation with the Słupsk Chamber of Business as part of the project “SWB Słupsk Bioenergy Island – Development of Energy Competences of the SKB Cluster Coordinator,” supported by National Recovery Plan (KPO) funds.
