The “Water Utilities for Water Utilities” conference is a wrap!

On September 18 and 19 this year, a conference titled “Development of new energy competences on a municipal scale” was held. The event was organized by the Polish Waterworks Chamber of Commerce and the company “Wodociągi Słupsk”, which also hosted the conference.
On September 18, the conference guests participated in study visits organized at the Słupsk water treatment plant and wastewater treatment plant, where modern technologies and solutions in the field of energy have been applied. Divided into groups, the participants had the opportunity to learn about the solutions functioning at the Słupsk water utilities, the details of which were discussed by individual conference partners. The goals and assumptions related to the development of energy competences were also presented, based on a project implemented by “Wodociągi Słupsk” Sp. z o.o. as the Coordinator of the Słupsk Bioenergy Cluster, titled: “Development of energy competences of the Słupsk Bioenergy Cluster”, covered by non-repayable support from the development plan under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, Investment B2.2.2./G1.1.2. Part A (pre-investment support): Action A.1.: Development of existing energy clusters, Sub-action: A.1a – stage I (clusters without a development concept). In addition, the assumptions of the planned venture named “SWB Słupsk Bioenergy Island Development of energy competences of the SKB cluster coordinator” under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO) were presented, Part B: investment support for energy communities, Action B.1: Demonstrative investment projects implemented by energy communities, which is the subject of a funding application submitted in March this year.
The second day, September 19, took the form of lectures and was held in the conference hall at Dolina Charlotty. Here, during the debate and speeches by invited guests, participants could learn about the best practices in the water and sewerage industry in the field of energy efficiency and transformation. The forward-looking plans of our Company covered by the funding application within the project “SWB Słupsk Bioenergy Island Development of energy competences of the SKB cluster coordinator” generated great interest among the gathered guests.
Thanks to the main organizer of the event – the Polish Waterworks Chamber of Commerce – and our long-term cooperation, the #musthave conference of the water and sewerage industry: “Water Utilities for Water Utilities in the field”, concluded successfully, with smiles on everyone’s faces and full optimism for future activities.
