New windrow turner at the composting plant of the Słupsk Wastewater Treatment Plant
The BACKHUS A50 windrow turner is the latest addition to the machinery fleet at the composting plant of the Słupsk Wastewater Treatment Plant. The new model replaces a worn-out device of similar, proven parameters that has performed reliably in operation over the last 12 years.
The purchased machine is the premier choice for efficient composting of organic and green waste, achieving an outstanding throughput of up to 4,000 m3 per hour. The new turner is equipped with advanced technical solutions, including the onboard BACKHUS Management System (BMS), which ensures optimized machine performance and trouble-free operation.
Another modern technical feature applied in the device is the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, which reduces exhaust emissions and minimizes environmental impact. The SCR system, using AdBlue, ensures the reduction of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by converting them into safe substances such as nitrogen (N2) and water (H2O). A parallel benefit achieved is fuel savings of up to 15%.
The BACKHUS turner model features compact operating dimensions, making it ideal for application between windrows. The new design of the undercarriage housing facilitates daily maintenance for the machine operator.
Optimal efficiency and utilization of the machine’s operating space are achieved thanks to the track clearers. Triangular windrows can be placed close together, eliminating the need for an additional lane of free space between them.
The continuous modernization of the machinery fleet aims to improve and organize production through the trouble-free operation of all machines and equipment working at the composting plant. A parallel result is supplying the market with BIOTOP organic fertilizer of guaranteed, high-quality parameters.
The purchase was financed from own funds.
