World Water Day – Every Drop Matters
(20.03.2026)
On March 22, we celebrate World Water Day – an initiative established by the UN to remind us of the vital importance of access to clean water and the immense challenge protecting it has become today.
Although water seems like a universally available resource, reality proves otherwise. Climate change, rising temperatures, and increasingly frequent periods of drought mean that water is a commodity we must care for every single day – consciously and responsibly. At Słupskie Wodociągi, we have been taking actions for years to support sustainable water management and environmental protection. A prime example is the Słupsk Bioenergy Island – a modern project and solution that allows for efficient resource management, energy recovery, and environmental protection. This demonstrates that a responsible approach to water can go hand in hand with innovation.
On the occasion of World Water Day, we have prepared a feature for you to remind us all that “every drop matters” – both on a global scale and in our daily choices. It is worth remembering that taking care of “every drop” starts with simple habits, such as turning off the tap while brushing your teeth or using rainwater. These are small actions that, when taken together, have a real impact on the future of our resources.
