In January 2022, “Wodociągi Słupsk” Sp. z o.o. as the Beneficiary, together with Gmina Słupsk as the Entity authorized to incur expenditures, submitted an application to the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) to expand the material scope of the project titled: “Circular economy in the wastewater treatment plant along with the expansion of the water and sewage network in the Słupsk agglomeration”, with a simultaneous increase in the project value and the amount of its co-financing from the Cohesion Fund. Despite the positive opinion of the Implementing Authority (NFOŚiGW) at that time, the project did not receive approval from the Intermediate Body. However, in October, the Implementing Authority re-applied for the consideration of the Company’s application submitted in January. This time, the application received positive opinions and approval, enabling the signing of another amendment to the co-financing agreement for the aforementioned project, which took place on October 24, 2022. Thanks to this, the OPIE (Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme) project implemented by our Company as the Beneficiary, jointly with Gmina Słupsk as the Entity authorized to incur expenditures, was reactivated, and its implementation period was extended until December 31, 2023.
The increase in the material scope of the project includes, in particular:
1/ modernization of the retention-overflow tank and the wastewater inlet system to the primary settling tanks at the wastewater treatment plant in Słupsk, which required urgent intervention due to poor technical condition – a task implemented by the Beneficiary, i.e., “Wodociągi Słupsk” Sp. z o.o.
The implementation of the task is planned in two stages:
a/ Modernization of the retention-overflow tank (task No. 47 – agreement signed in April 2022), which was 100% completed in November 2022.
b/ Modernization of the wastewater inlet system to the primary settling tanks (task No. 48 – agreement signed in October 2022) is currently underway – the planned completion of the task is April 2023.
2/ reconstruction of the gravity sanitary sewage network in the village of Głobino (task No. 49 – agreement signed in December 2022) with a total length of approximately 3.6 km, which requires immediate reconstruction due to current overloading and poor technical condition – implemented by the Entity authorized to incur eligible expenditures, i.e., Gmina Słupsk. The implementation of this task is currently underway.
The scheduled completion date for this task is November 2023.
