World Water Day – Every Drop Counts
(20.03.2026)
On March 22, we celebrate World Water Day – an initiative established by the UN to remind us of the vital importance of access to clean water and the immense challenge its protection poses today.
Although water may seem like a universally available resource, the reality is quite different. Climate change, rising temperatures, and increasingly frequent periods of drought mean that water is becoming a precious asset that we must care for every day – consciously and responsibly. At Słupskie Wodociągi, we have been taking actions for years to support sustainable water management and environmental protection. A prime example is the Słupsk Bioenergy Island – a modern project and solution that enables efficient resource management, energy recovery, and environmental preservation. This demonstrates that a responsible approach to water can go hand in hand with innovation.
To mark World Water Day, we have prepared a special feature for you, reminding us that “every drop counts” – both on a global scale and in our daily choices. It is worth remembering that caring for “every drop” begins with simple habits, such as turning off the tap while brushing your teeth or harvesting rainwater. These are small actions that, when taken collectively, have a tangible impact on the future of our water resources.
