Agreement for the Construction of an Energy Storage Facility at the “3Fale” Water Park in Słupsk Signed
(21.07.2025)
On July 17, 2025, “Wodociągi Słupsk” Sp. z o.o. signed an agreement for the construction of the ME2 energy storage facility at the “3Fale” Water Park with the Contractor selected through a public procurement procedure, i.e., a Consortium of Companies: BPR ASE Group Sp. z o.o. based in Gdańsk and ELMECH – ASE S.A. based in Pruszcz Gdański.
This initiative is part of the project entitled “SBI Słupsk Bioenergy Island – Development of Energy Competencies of the SBC Cluster Coordinator,” covered by non-repayable support under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO), Part B: investment support for energy communities, Activity B.1: Demonstration investment projects implemented by energy communities.
Under this task, in addition to developing the project documentation, the Contractor will build a containerized chemical energy storage facility with a minimum capacity of 2 MW and a storage capacity of at least 4 MWh, along with its connection to the existing RSNK switchgear. The storage facility will be expanded as needed; its location was chosen due to the proximity of the company’s own 15 kV RSN SBI switchgear. The RSN SBI switchgear is equipped with a bay to connect existing wind turbines and couple them with the energy storage facility. This site is located in the vicinity of the “Grunwaldzka” Main Supply Point (GPZ), to which the existing wind sources belonging to the SBC members are connected via existing subscriber networks.
According to the signed agreement, the completion of the task is scheduled by January 17, 2026.
