Key Agreement for the Słupsk Bioenergy Cluster Signed

On October 30, 2025, in Warsaw, the Minister of Climate and Environment, Paulina Hennig-Kloska, signed agreements to grant non-repayable support for projects implemented by energy clusters. The funds for this purpose come from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO), under Investment B2.2.2/G1.1.2 – RES installations implemented by energy communities, Activity B.1: Demonstration investment projects implemented by energy communities, supporting local energy transition. During the ceremony, Andrzej Wójtowicz, President of “Wodociągi Słupsk” and leader of the Słupsk Bioenergy Cluster, signed an agreement for support in implementing the project: “SBI Słupsk Bioenergy Island – Development of Energy Competencies of the SBC Cluster Coordinator”. The total value of the project is approximately PLN 53.2 million, of which around PLN 37.2 million constitutes the support funding from the development plan.
The objective of the project is to support the energy transition of Słupsk and the region by increasing the share of renewable energy sources, improving energy security, reducing harmful gas emissions, and strengthening the competencies of the SBC coordinator in modern energy management.
As part of the SBI project, modern investments will be carried out, combining biogas technologies, photovoltaics, energy storage, heat pumps, and systems for heat recovery from wastewater. These will allow for the efficient use of local resources and energy balancing within the city of Słupsk and the region.
The “Słupsk Bioenergy Island” is a symbol of the region’s transformation – a step toward energy independence, a clean environment, and sustainable development. It is a vision of a local energy island created jointly by local governments, entrepreneurs, institutions, and the residents of Słupsk.
